School Board Encourages Families to Communicate Our Values
During meetings with trustees and school board administrators (fall 2008), P.E.A.C.E. shared the concerns of Biblical Christian parents... "We raise our children from a Biblical-Christian world view and exposing them to concepts and values that are in conflict with the values taught at church and home will lead to confusion."
The response from the Board of Education officials was...
"Families that hold these traditional values need to inform the school in writing so that we can do our best to meet the needs of the student."

Further, the Minister of Education has told parents that schools must accommodate for their religious beliefs...
"Should a component of any course conflict with a religious belief held by a parent or a student aged eighteen or older, the right to withdraw from that component of the course shall be granted on the written request of the parent of student."

Each family needs to make clear to their public school the desires and limits they would place on the social and moral teaching and indoctrination they would permit for the children in their family.
To assist you we have provided an online form (you can also contact us for a triplicate form) - Our Family’s Spiritual values Letter / Issues in Education Form. This document provides a clear and easy way to share your desires known to the school and classroom teacher(s). Be sure to complete one form for each child.
